Pieces in Public Discourse
The following came
to me via Gabby Speach, editor of the journal Public Discourse; I'm
posting here for anyone interested in these particular pieces:
I’m the Managing Editor of Public Discourse, an online journal designed to educate readers
on the moral foundations of free societies. We just published three articles by
professors at Notre Dame and Hillsdale that might be of interest to your blog
readers—their debate is more broadly about the principles guiding the
Constitution, but they each take different positions on the American founders’
view of religion.
Nathan Schlueter (associate
professor of philosophy at Hillsdale), “Natural Law Liberalism Beyond
Romanticism,”http://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2013/03/7511/
Phillip Muñoz (associate professor
of political science at Notre Dame), “Sustaining American Liberalism in
Principle and Practice,”http://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2013/03/7857/
Patrick Deneen (professor of
political science at Notre Dame), “Liberalism’s Logic and America’s Challenge:
A Reply to Schlueter and Muñoz,”http://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2013/03/9458/
