Religion Bloggers Go On-Air Live!

This morning Ed Blum was featured on the KPBS (San Diego public radio) morning show to discuss Palin, pentecostalism, and politics. He was kind enough to let me join him. You can listen here.

And for those of you looking for holiday gifts for your friends and family, Amazon is now offering our books together for a discounted price on Ed’s page here.

The entire show was pretty much dedicated to Matthew Avery Sutton. It was the beginning of a new NPR daily segment: "Steams from Sutton" where Sutton talks about whatever religious/political/historical topic is catching his fancy.

Almost right Ed--it is actually a ploy to see how many times I can insert "Aimee Semple McPherson" into the discussion of any topic.

Totally interesting. I loved the fact that they took calls. It's great that you deal with some of these nuts-and-bolts questions about religion and politics in America in such a public forum.

So, ever give any thought to teaming up for a "Sutton & Blum" call-in show? (I think the idea has legs--so long as you don't require callers to say something like, "Thanks for taking my call, Ed. You're a great American.")

Sutton and I have already discussed this: we'll be the religion/politics/history version of Cartalk. Instead of click and clack, we'll be 'fluff and fold' - I'll be the fluff, Sutton will be the fold.

Ed and Matt: I was thinking more like, "Larry and Moe." I'll be Curly.
