What's sad about Jeremiah Wright is that with his knowledge, intellegence and incredible perceptive abilities, he is "oh, so close" to being a profound leader in America, a true Jeremiah. I am amazed at his uncanny ability to apply biblical messages to our present concerns.

And yet, JW just can't help but go too over-the-top and allow people an excuse not to take him seriously. In the end, then, he fails as a leader. One must know when to agitate and when to negotiate. It may be bitterness or, as I suspect, an uncontrollable ego, but whatever the case, JW simply yields too often to his inner provocateur.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37589721331585843.post-67642683720405730012008-04-27T21:10:00.000-06:002008-04-27T21:10:00.000-06:00I've heard Professor Murphy give some talks on his...I've heard Professor Murphy give some talks on his forthcoming book, and it sounds like it will be a must-read, must-have-on-the-bookshelf for American religious historians. Can't wait to read it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
